Triparty Repo

Introduction

CCIL is providing clearing and settlement services, for Triparty Repo trades in Government Securities, under its Securities Segment. CCIL acts as a Central Counterparty to all the borrow and lend Triparty Repo trades received by it for settlement. CCIL also performs the role responsibilities as a Triparty Repo Agent, in terms of Repurchase Transactions (Repo) (Reserve Bank) Directions, 2018 and as amended from time to time. CCIL settles the Triparty Repo trades, in terms of its Securities Segment Regulations.

The Funds settlement of members is achieved by multilateral netting of the funds position in Triparty Repo with the funds position in Outright and Market Repo and is settled in the books of RBI for members who maintain an RBI Current Account.

Features

  1. The access to Triparty Repo Dealing shall be provided through TREPS, an Electronic Trading Platform (ETP) authorized by RBI.
  2. CCIL will act as a Tri-Party Repo Agent for the purpose of Collateral Management including securities settlement of Tri-Party Repo trades.  
  3. CCIL will act as a Central Counterparty (CCP) for all Tri-Party Repo trades received by it from ClearCorp Dealing Systems (India) Ltd. and shall undertake Securities and Funds settlement of all Tri – Party Repo trades under its guaranteed settlement ambit.

Member Gateway for TREPS is similar to existing TREPS Member Server, it acts as a bridge to connect CCIL Host End to various Dealer Workstations for a particular Member.
